Notification from the scientific-organisational committee about the selection will be sent to the participants on Apr 6, 2017, 6 pm
after the selection, participants should send the full text of the conference paper by Apr 11, 2017, 6pm
The Institute of American Studies, Georgian Association for American Studies and American Studies Students Scientific Group at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University is pleased to announce the call for participation in the 5th annual student conference on American Studies dedicated to the 25th anniversary of U.S.-Georgia diplomatic relations.
Interested candidate should be a BA / MA / PhD level student at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. BA / MA / PhD students from the U.S. and European universities with different academic disciplines are also welcome. High preference will be given to the students doing research in U.S. Studies, Latin America Studies or doing major/minor in American Studies.
Note: Conference working language - Georgian / English.
After the selection, if the foreign student cannot manage to attend the conference, organisational committee will consider the other ways for participation, including but not limited to the Skype live conference.
Papers should be focused on the issues of American Studies including but not limited to the U.S. and Latin American history, literature, politics, philosophy, diplomacy, etc. High preference will be given to the papers focused on the U.S.-Georgia relations.

- Scientific abstract of the paper (500-550 words); font – Sylfaen; Font Size – 12; Line Spacing – 1,5;
- Front page with the following data: the full title of the paper; full name of the author; his/her contact details; full name of the scientific supervisor; his/her contact details;
- Reference letter from the scientific supervisor on the paper;
- Recent statement of the student status from the university;
- References should be formatted in the Chicago Style of Citation;
- Interested applicants should indicate “Conference-2017” in the subject line; (e.x: Conference - 2017)
